Your vet's care plan,
delivered at home
RVT In-Home Pet Care sends licensed Registered Veterinary Technicians to your home to carry out the care your veterinarian has already prescribed — safely, consistently, and fully documented.
How a visit works
Every step flows through your veterinarian. RVT In-Home Pet Care is an extension of their care plan, not a substitute for it. We work under your pet's written veterinary orders, ensuring your pet receives consistent, professional care at home, with clear communication back to your clinic after every visit.

Meet Max
I'm Max Mendez, founder of RVT In-Home Pet Care. I earned my B.S. in Biology and Physiology, with a minor in Chemistry, from California State University, Long Beach. From there I entered the veterinary field and fell in love with it — building 20 years of hands-on clinical experience as a veterinary technician across both general and specialty practice settings. I'm a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), the veterinary field's equivalent of a registered nurse, and a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), an advanced credential in the profession. For the last 15 years, I've had the privilege of running one of the most reputable veterinary practices in Los Angeles.
The idea behind RVT In-Home Pet Care isn't new to me. Back in 2009, I saw the need and started a company called Max's Angels — but set it aside to focus on practice management. I'm circling back now because the need has only grown, and not just for the patients. So much of the care a pet needs — subcutaneous fluids, injections, blood draws, monitoring, bandage changes — doesn't actually require a stressful car ride and a clinic waiting room. For elderly, anxious, or hard-to-transport animals, the trip can be harder on them than the care itself. And for the people who love them — those who are elderly themselves, homebound, or simply stretched thin — getting to the clinic again and again isn't always realistic.
This work is personal to me. Over the years I've owned and cared for cats and dogs with challenging medical needs well into their old age — some of them rescues from work whose owners could no longer provide the care they needed. I know what it's like to manage ongoing treatment for an animal you love, and I know how much it means to be able to do it gently, at home.
My service brings that care into your home, where your pet is calm and comfortable — always under the direction of a veterinarian, and always within the scope of what a licensed RVT is trained and authorized to do. I don't diagnose or take the place of your veterinarian. I work alongside them, carrying out their orders and reporting back so your pet's regular vet stays fully in the loop.
I still work in clinical practice, which keeps my skills sharp and current, and I serve families throughout the San Fernando Valley. When you welcome me into your home, you're getting the same standard of clinical care you'd expect at the clinic — delivered with patience, professionalism, and real attention to your animal's comfort.
